Can access virtualserver via remote client (or in IE either)

Weird, but I cannot seem to get to my virtual servers (on the local machine)
via remote control app or the IE page. I can access the admin website just
fine, it even shows me thumbnails of each virt machine, but using the remote
client or the IE page to control any virt machine gives me a "connection
lost" message. I can otherwise still access the services running on each
virt machine (terminal services, IIS, FTP, etc).

There is nothing in windows event log or in the virtual server log
indicating that anything is wrong. running netstat reveals that the machine
is indeed listening on port 5900, so that seems OK too. Any ideas????
