VS2005 running my DC

Message:

So I decided to virtualize my domain controller. I thought VS2005 was a
LOCAL service and that it would be ok to boot the host machine with no DC
available then bring the DC online.

I thought wrong.

When I reboot the machine, I got in, ok. Then the virtual server service
starts, ok. Then I go to run the VS admin site, CRASH!!!! I get either:

1. No response
2. CGI error
3. Login not allowed

From what I can tell the website is using Domain Authentication. I then
have to uninstall VS2005 then reinstall VS2005 then reimport my DC VM and
I'm back up and running. Until I reboot then BAM.

I would really like for this machine to be apart of the domain. Is there
anything I can do like login LOCALLY then install VS2005? Will that force
it to not use domain auth?

Is there any other recommend way of virtualizing a DC with hardware that is
apart of the domain? Aside from having a second DC. The ultimate goal is
to use 2008 R2 and do this via HV and I only have one machine that supports
that so I have to keep it to one machine for now.

Thanks for any advice!
