Can Hyper-V Heartbeat Service reboot failed guest OS?

I'm currently investigating virtualisation using Server 2008. My boss is very
keen that VM's that freeze up can be automatically restarted for times when
IT are not available.

I can see that Hyper-V Heartbeat Service logs an event when a VM has hung
but can it perform other actions (reboot the VM / send notification email
etc)?

If not is there some way to automatically monitor the Event log and perform
a customised action when one of the Hyper-V Heartbeat Service events is
discovered?
