Questions about Hyper-V Server 2008 R2

We are ready to begin the implementation phase of a project to convert the
majority of our production environment to VMs running on Hyper-v Server 2008.
Now that RC is out for the R2 release of the product, I have two questions:

1) Has the gold release date been announced for R2?
2) Is there a clean upgrade path from Hyper-V Server 2008 RTM to R2?

We may consider pushing back our project if the gold date is soon enough
and/or the upgrade path to R2 is too resource intensive.

it should be around the same time that Win7 RTM's which is expected in
October.

I'm pretty much in the same boat, we need to replace our servers and
implement VM's, but decided we can wait a little longer for R2.
