Vista VM freezing at product key screen while installing

I am reinstalling Vista on our testing virtual server using the latest copy
of Vista w/SP1 from MSDN. In both Virtual Server and Virtual PC when I
install Vista it gets to the third screen of the install for entering the
product key. When I put in a key (or leave it blank) and click next it
freezes there indefinitely (or at least for a few hours till I shut it down)
and CPU goes to %100. Just to see if its the ISO I tried it on VMWare and
VirtualBox but it installs fine on those. I have found other people having
this issue on physical machines, but the verdict usually is incompatible
hardware. Our virtual server is running the latest VS 2005 R2 SP1 Update
(that is suppose to fix compatibility issues in vista and 2k8). Thanks in
advance for advice. Nick
