I have successfully done P2V migration with many servers using VSMT.
However, as of late all machines I attempt to virtualize are success but I am
unable to interact with the new VM in any way. Using the Admin website I
power on the new VM but no keyboard or mouse is detected. The new VM sits at
the CTRL+ALT+DEL screen and I cannot do anything with it. In the past, after
I login for the first time, Windows would detect new hardware and ask me to
reboot. I would reboot and install VM additions. None of this is possible
without keyboard and mouse support.

If I remove focus from the VM the mouse responds being outside the VM. If I
choose "send ALT+CTRL+DEL" from the menu nothing happens. As soon as I click
on the VM mouse control should be on the VM but nothing. RDP is not possible
because the first time you boot after using VSMT you have to reset your IP
address since DHCP was used by ADS to create the VM.

looks we are stuck until someone comes up with a solution.

unless you are working on a non production machine. In that case you may
have the option of isolating the host on a very tiny network with a dhcp
server and all known used ip. this way when you new vm starts you know which
ip is used by the new vm and hence possibly rdp with the new ip. This
assume the corresponding physical host allowed rdp in the first place

I am sure you can work out way of isolating the the new vm - on Hyperv and
vs 2005, you can edit the vm's network setting to be on an internal network
or on a different network card.
If on a dedicated network card plugged into a dedicated router or managed
switch, you can find the new ip easily enough from the the network device's
web interface

just some wild ideas
