Hyper-V Networking "doesn"t work" - the fix

Message:

If you are having connectivity issues on your External Hyper-V networ
such that only one host can communicate at any given time - then chec
for port-security on the physical switch that your host is using wit
the Hyper-V virtual switch

I researched this issue for some time with most answers an
documentation simply stating that you need to define an Externa
network

But my Cisco switch had port-security enabled so that only one MA
address could use the port. I'm sure other managed switches will hav
similiar features. According to the network engineer that installe
that switch, this was the Cisco default configuration - something I'v
not seen before as default

I'm posting this because I hope I can help someone else. There'
another post here, with similar subject but multiple responses. At th
bottom was the answer that resolved an issue I'd worked with for tw
weeks. Maybe I can make it easy for someone else
