VSMT Capture Problems

Hi All,

We are running a VSMT test here to migrate a Windows 2000 SP4 box to a
Virtual Machine. The Windows 2000 box is fairly old, but also a fairly
standard IDE config. The Box We are Migrating to has ADS, VSMT and
Virtual Server all installed on it with Windows Enterprise Edition and
Service Pack 1.

The problem occurs during capture of the image. We are able to boot the
machine using the RIS floppy and we see the machines connect. The ADS
Machine is able to get the Drive Geometry Successfully as per below:

Job #.........: 8
Description...: get geometry
Status........: Succeeded
Destination...: Tester2005
Command.......: /bmonitor/bmpart.exe
Parameters....: \device\harddisk0 -g
Exit Code.....: 0
Owner.........: Administrator
Start.........: 27/04/2005 11:49:20 AM
End...........: 27/04/2005 11:49:20 AM

Output:
Disk Geometry for [\Device\Harddisk0] :

Cylinders ............: 1027

Media Type ...........: 12

Tracks Per Cylinder ..: 255

Sectors Per Track ....: 63

Bytes Per Sector .....: 512

Signature ............: 2686792284

Partition Style ......: MBR

Partition Information for [\Device\Harddisk0\Partition1] :

Hidden Sectors .......: 63

Starting Offset ......: 32256

Partition Length .....: 8439105024 (8048 MB)

Partition Type .......: 7 (PARTITION_IFS)

Partition Bootable ...: TRUE

Recognized Partition .: TRUE

Partition Information has not changed.

Errors:

But shortly after ADS tries to perform the CaptureImage step we receive
the following error:

Job #.........: 9
Description...: Capture image
Status........: Failed to complete
Destination...: Tester2005
Command.......: /imaging/imgbmdeploy.exe
Parameters....: img_Tester2005_1_1 \device\harddisk0\partition1 "Image
from device:Tester2005 source hard drive[0] ide[2:0] partition:1 for
logical drive:C:" -c -client -nonetencrypt
Exit Code.....: c0000015
Owner.........: Administrator
Start.........: 27/04/2005 11:49:20 AM
End...........: 27/04/2005 11:52:01 AM

Output:

Errors:
The network circuit was disconnected.

{Sector Not Found}

The specified sector does not exist.

And in the Dos window where we started the Capture Process we receive:

===>Remote job output:11

<===Remote job output
Error: Result Code: 8
Error occured, exiting (8)

Does anyone know what could be happening? I saw other posts about
people having problems obtaining Disk Geometry information and that
this was related to unavailable drivers but it doesn't seem to be the
same as my problem.

Regards,

Ben.
