Guest Operating System will not hold onto CD ROM Drive

Message:

I am running Server 2003 as a guest operating system on Virtual Server 2005.
When I try to access the CD ROM on the guest os it tells me nothing is in
the drive.

I stop the guest os and go into server 2005, remove and add the cd rom
mapping and then restart the guest os. The CD ROM is then functional until
the next time I have to open the drive to insert a cd then I have to go
through the entire process again.
