error "connection to server has been lost"

Source: microsoft.public.virtualserver

Message:

hi,

i am currently using vs 2005 r2 sp1 on a windows 2008 machine. so far it
works fine when working locally either using "virtual machine manager" or
vmrc client. however when connecting from remote (windows vista) - using the
same user being local admin on the w2k8 host machine - i do recive an error
saying "connection to server has been lost".

using vmrc client on the same windows vista box i can connect to any other
physical virtual server box. opening vmrc client on the w2k8 machine also
works when connecting to other physical boxes. several ports like 135 and
137 had been enabled in "windows firewall" on w2k8 machine. in general i
followed the steps on http://blogs.techrepublic.com.com/howdoi/?p=183.

what do i have to do in order to being able to connect remotely to this
vs-machine based on w2k8? is there any exception i may have forgotten to
enter in "windows firewall"?

thanks in advance, fritz
