SnapShot File *.ahvd used up C: Drive

Message:

We are running a Windows 2008 Enterprise Server. I created three partitions
C: (136GB) E: (136GB) and F: (136GB). I used the C: partition for the
Windows 2008 Server and saved the Virtual Server File (VHD) on the E:
partition. After creating a few SnapShot's I noticed the the SnapShot File
location was set to the default location
C:\ProgramData\Microsoft\Windows\Hyper-V\Snapshots. This caused the C: Drive
to run out of Disk Space. I went ahead and deleted all the SnapShot from the
Hypber-V Manager. But for some reason it did not free up the space on the C:
Drive. I did a little research and found out the all the SnapShot Files
(*.avhd) are still inside the
C:\ProgramData\Microsoft\Windows\Hyper-V\Snapshots folder. Since I am new to
Hyper-V and Virtualization I am afraid to move or delete this Files. Can
anyone tell me if I have to manually remove those files from the C: Drive or
is there an other way to remove the SnapShots other then the Hyper-V
Manager? All the help is appriciated.

Roman
