Scripting installation/config of VS2005?

Message:

We have an OLE problem in a few customer installations of our
automation software. The problem relates to the combination of using
ADO for database access (in our own applications) and some 3rd party
OCX:es supplying connectivity to the machine tools. Sometimes our
application crashes on an ADO call (even though we have exception
handling enabled). Recent investigations show that if we relocate the
use of the 3rd party OCX:es to a separate PC then we do not get the
crashes. Looks like there is something messing up the Windows COM
system. :-(

Unforunately we are stuck with these OCX components so our options are
limited.
Enter the idea of using virtualization to get the isolation....

What we need is to install a virtual machine on our main PC (running
XP-Pro) in such a way that the guest will be automatically started and
logged on (for the machine tool communications program to run) as soon
as the main PC starts up.
This makes Virtual Server 2005 the virtualization product we must use.

So my questions relate to deployment of this solution:

1) Assuming that the VS2005 install is done on the main PC by the
customer, is there any way that we could start the installer such that
it would know *how* to install VS2005?
We do not want to install the IIS components because there is no IIS
running on the host PC. We will use VMRC+ if needed to administrate
the server.
So are there any command line switches to the installer such that we
can automate the correct VS2005 installation?

2) Once the VS2005 service is running we want the customer to be able
to set up the guest provided by us as a virtual machine (vmc and vhd
files) in the proper way.
Is there any way that we can script this such that the customer just
has to execute a script?
We want to do the following:
- Register the virtual machine with VS2005
- Set the machine up to shut down with the VS2005 service
- Set it to always autstart with the VS2005 service
How can this be done? Is there a VS2005 scripting tutorial somewhere?

3) We are assuming that we can set the guest up to auto-logon at start
and then we will have the machine tool communication program started
via a Registry entry in the Run key.
Once this is running we will be OK.
Does this sound sensible?
