Totally Baffles About What Hardware To Purchase For System Centre

Source: microsoft.public.virtualserver

Message:

Firstly: We are quite a new MS Server 2003 network, comprising of
around 10k users, and 40 ish servers.

We urgently need to look at virtualisation, and I have noticed that
Microsoft Systems Centre 2007 comprises a few products which we are
very eager to use;

Softgrid (For virtual applications)
System Centre Virtual Machine Manager (for virtual servers)
Systems Centre Operations Manager (for monitoring server health)

Im totally unable to identify what server requirments are for the
actualy System Centre installation.

Would I be correct in thinking that I need a dedicated server for
System Centre 2007 with operations manager, vm manager and softgrid?
Or one server for System Centre on its own, plus one for operations
manager etc etc?

I obviously understand that I'll need dedicated servers to host
virtual machines.... but Im totally unsure about what sort of server I
should be pricing up.

Any help would be greatly appreciated!

David Hamer.
