I don't know what you mean by VMWare here, but NTVDM.exe is the
subsystem in Windows for executing 16-bit code, it shouldn't impact
any virtualization app.

Where are you getting the error? (inside a VPC VM or on the host?)

It usually points to a problem with whatever program you're trying to
execute...

As Bob mentioned, can you please clarify whether you are using Microsoft's
Virtual PC application or one of the suite of VMWare products...

If you're using VMWare, then you're in the wrong newsgroup...
