2 virtual PCs...guests can"t see outside of virtual network

Message:

I have 2 virtual PCs. One is running Vista Ultimate with vpc 2007. The
second is running XP Pro with VPC 2007.

The Vista system has 2 guests on it. One is a 2008 server running as a DC.
The second is a lab system running win 2k3 r2 in a seperate forest that will
run exchange 2007.

The XP system will run a another guest of win2k3 r2 and will be a second DC
and Exchange Server.

The problem is I can't get the second 2k3 system to join the domain of the
lab system. For the LAN Adapter in both virtual PCs I'm using the network
card and NOT using Local or NAT. However it appears I can't access the other
virtual server from another virtual pc. It appears I can only access the
virtual server from within the virtual network.

I've checked and disabled the Windows Firewall on both Hosts and the guests
to no avail.

As an fyi, I've set up production servers using VS 2005 and Hyper V 2008 and
never seen these problems until VPC. Is there something in VPC that limits
the connectivity to stay inside the PC?
