How to stop "Merging Disks"?

I have VPC 2007 installed running XP Pro On top of Vista Business. Works fine
except that every time I Shutdown XP via VPC, It provides 3 options :
"Commit changes to the Vitual Hard Disk"
"Save and Undo disk Changes"
"Delete undo Disk Changes"
I always select the first option. On a different machine with VPC when I
shutdown it simply Closes and shutsdown.
I want to change the first install where it asks the three questions. I have
already converted the disk to a fixed size.
What can I do . This "commit" option takes forever as it is merging Disks.

This is the one reason I prefer VMWare with its snapshot ability. The lack
of snapshots and the lengthy wait for commit to disk when shutting down
makes VPC a very poor candidate for what I want a virtual machine for. Other
than this major lack, I really like VPC and I don't particularly care if it
has USB support...but snapshots are essential if you use virtual machines
for testing software and if there is no snapshot ability then you have to
use Undo Disks. But for a free product I really can't complain. VMWare is
expensive.
