MS DOS on VPC

I am using VPC on a Vista computer with NTFS file system. I can boot a VPC
into MS DOS (6.22) via a bootable CD however it only recognizes the CD ROM
drive (gives it letters A and R). I have created a vhd for this machine. Is
it because of the NTFS file system that the VPC when booted into DOS does
not recognize the C drive (vhd drive)? Any suggestions?

Since my DOS is on old floppies I have not tried the booting from the
floppies because I don't have a floppy drive. I guess moving each floppy (
Image) to a CD may be the best way.
