Windows XP Laptop Power Options on Virtual Machines

Message:

Hello,

I am trying to set up a virtual XP machine for deployment to laptops.
I have successfully used a third-party utility which ensures that the
proper drivers are installed on the physical machines post-image-
deployment.

Additionally, I want to pre-set various power options, like lid close
behavior, before deployment. Unfortunately those options do not show
up in the VM. I have searched online but the typical results re:
registry hacks tend to point towards simply applying a different power
profile, i.e. when to turn off the monitor, hdd's, etc.

I would like to be able to inject the lid-close option into the VM
(even if it won't work in the VM itself) since deployment of this
machine to laptops has resulted in that option being missing.

Thanks,

Jon Harvey
