Vista and Virtual Machine Additions

Source: microsoft.public.virtualpc

Message:

I recently created a Vista Business Edition VPC and cannot get the
Virtual Machine Additions to install properly. Though I can get the
higher screen resolutions, cursor integration, and whatever other
additions that allow the thing to not run like a complete dog, I
cannot get the clipboard integration or shared folder functionality to
work. Poking around I noticed that the following services weren't
started though they're set to automatic:

Virtual Machine Additions Services Application
Virtual Machine Additions Shared Folder Service

Attempting to start either service results in the following error
message:

"Windows could not start the [service name] service on the Local
Computer.

Error 1068: The dependency service or group failed to start."

Checking on the dependencies for each service I found that the 1st
relies on Virtual Machine Additions Services Driver. The 2nd relies on
Virtual Machine Additions Folder Sharing Driver and Virtual Machine
Additions Services Driver.

I've searched Google and MSDN and can't find anything at all related
to this. I've tried installing the VMA right after creating the VPC
and also after I've updated it with every update Vista update to no
avail.

If anyone has run into this and solved it, I'd appreciate any
assistance you can give. Thank you.
