It appears that VMWare has a Microsoft Windows Server 2003 R2 Enterprise
Edition Virtual Appliance.
It is a prebuilt virtual machine.
Download it at http://www.vmware.com/appliances/directory/649
If it is like the pre-built appliance I downloaded it will be filetype F7z
(IIRC) and WInRAR will handle that.
So download it, unzip it, open VMWare Player and click on the "open" icon,
browse to the where you unzipped it, click on the .vmx file and you should
be good to go (at least with that virtual machine)...........
I have done this all of once, several weeks ago, so take the above as a
good-faith guide..............
(Yes, this is off-topic for this group, but what the heck....)

Use the VPC2007 Wizard to create a new guest instead and install the
W2003 server into that in the normal way, much simpler and better.

Did you know that according to Newsweek, Obama and McCain are now very close
in the polls?

Not much point posting in here, then...
What did they tell you in the VMWare newsgroups / forums...?

Which means that it is OT here (Virtual PC 2007 is a Microsoft
product)....
However, you could still create a new guest even though you use VMWare
Player, which does not come with any built-in means for creating a
guest...
If you google you will find sites that offer to create a new guest for
Player and then you can download all the needed files in a small zip
archive and get going.

Message:Well that explains it, VPC won't recognize the VMWare hard drive as a valid
virtual hard drive, hence the message. You'll just need to use the VPC menus
and create a new virtual hard drive and attach it to your VM that you plan
on running in VPC.
The easiest way is what was suggested earlier, use the wizard and create a
new VM.
