Is there any detailed information on the emulated S3?

Message:

I'm interested in video driver development so I have a question on S3
emulation.

First of all let me say that it is great in both of the virtualization
products: it really does support (ie. implements on the register-level)
Trio's enhanced mode, 4MB linear frame buffer, PCI config space registers,
2D-acceleration commands (bitblit, solid-fill, colored pattern-fill, mono
color-expansion, image xfer, Breshenham-lines). But enabling hardware cursor
in CR45 doesn't work for me. Is HWC emulated at all in VPC?

I also found that Virtual Server video emulation differs (!) from VPC's:
there is a hardware cursor implemented for sure, and I discovered a color-bug
in VS in all the line-drawing accelerated commands under 16bpp - while VPC
emulates them correctly.

Is there any source of documentation that lists the video hardware
registers' bits, which are emulated ('sensitive' to set/clear) in these
products? This would be a big help to solve all the video issues under
VPC/VS...
