systems. Install VPC2007 or VPC2007 w/SP1 and then install AVG 8.x (I used
the free version). Before you install AVG, your guest OS networking works
just fine. After -- no mode of networking (shared, dedicated, etc) works
anymore.

Can someone else out there puuuuleeeze try this too? Maybe it's just
coincidence that all of my machines (Dell XPS's) are fubar'ing even with
clean OS loads, all using Vista x86.

I haven't tried XP.

I use AVG 8 in about a dozen virtual machines on four different hosts and I
have not seen this. None of my computers are Dells, however. Two run Vista
x64 SP1 and two run XP Pro SP3. The guests run the gamut of XP SP3 and
Vista SP1. I suggest you log into the AVG forums for advice. You might
also try Avast, since it is also free for consumer users and runs in all
configurations of hosts and guests. I use Avast in a few guests, mostly
running Win9x/ME, which AVG 8 no longer supports.
